Dear Reader,
If you’re reading this letter you already know. The podcast has been shut down. The house has been boarded up. The doors. The windows. Everything. We’re at the Comfort Inn. Room 112. I love you - The Shark.
Just kidding. That was a Frank the Tank special though from Old School. Sub – splice that in.
In a day when everyone and their mother has a podcast, and a guy like Jeff Goodman has a podcast network, we knew we must adapt. I believe it was Hawthorne who said, when everyone talks, listen. And whenever everyone speaks on a podcast, go back to a blog. Well, that’s what we’re doing, but we will also keep the podcast going.
Moving forward, we will update this thing accordingly. Subbi, Taylor and I have many thoughts that must be captured for eternity. For example, I cannot keep retweeting myself forever about how I said Oregon and Seton Hall were going to the Final Four in early November 2019. It was a terrific take, and would have happened if it was not for a cancelled tournament, but I cannot keep up the effort of scrolling to find the tweet and retweeting it when I am bored. It is time that I grow up. Instead, I will have an easily accessible link to refer you to.
I write this on the Tuesday evening of the second week of conference tournaments. Selection Sunday is in five days. Look around and appreciate this moment. In a month, this Tuesday will be the worst day of your life. College hoops will be over. Baseball is not coming. Your taxes will be due in a few days, and turbotax will hit you with a fee that you never saw coming. It will be a disaster. The house will be boarded up. The doors. The windows. Everything.
But not yet. Today, happiness is still a choice. As for Theater in College Hoops, tomorrow when you wake up, we will have our second Jerome episode out. This is our conference tournament podcast. In the future, you will be able to easily track our contest on this site. By the way, I’m winning that right now if you are in our pool. The next day, we are going to do another podcast. Taylor and I have been picking against the spread all year and we are tied at 18-12. We will have three more picks for you to ride going into the weekend. As you know, I’ve been seeing the floor like Billy Hoyle so I recommend listening. As you also know, Taylor is a sheep that cannot think for himself unless he has a Kenpom QB sleeve to consult. Select accordingly.
That’s all for now. Stay tuned for more updates and news we have coming. As always, thank you for listening, but also thank you for reading. We like to break mental sweats too.
